What makes our programs different
Frequently Asked Questions
about College of Professional Studies degrees
- Can I transfer my associate degree credits from a technical school, community college
or similar program to a Bachelor of Professional Studies?Yes, you can! We know you worked hard for your Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, whether it's from a technical school, community college, culinary school or other institution, and your experience matters. We can transfer many classes you've earned with your AAS degree toward a Bachelor of Professional Studies. This includes credits from applied technical degrees, vocational programs and other two-year college degrees. This way, you can continue your education seamlessly, building on the skills you've already developed and advancing your career efficiently and affordably.
- Are the programs offered by OSU College of Professional Studies the same as those
on the OSU-Stillwater campus?
Yes! The online and hybrid programs offered by OSU College of Professional Studies and OSU-Tulsa fall under Oklahoma State University's Higher Learning Commission accreditation. All of our degrees are OSU degrees, meaning your diploma will be the same as those awarded to students attending classes on the OSU campus.
- Are there any in-person requirements for College of Professional Studies online programs?
Most College of Professional Studies degree programs are available 100% online. However, entertainment media, due to its hands-on training with film equipment and editing tools, includes hybrid courses where some of the work must be done on the OSU-Tulsa campus. This allows you to gain practical experience with industry-standard tools while completing the rest of your coursework online.
- Can my work or life experience count toward my degree?
You can use approved specialized training—including police academy, paramedic, firefighter or military service—for up to 15 credit hours toward your College of Professional Studies bachelor's degree. Our expert academic advising team is dedicated to ensuring that you make the most of your previous experience, helping you maximize transfer credits and accelerate your degree progress.

The length of your program depends on your prior college credits and whether you’re attending full-time or part-time. Most students complete their degrees in 2-4 years, with flexibility to accommodate work and other commitments. Students looking for an accelerated bachelor's degree program can work with their academic advisor to design a schedule that works for them.
- What is the cost of College of Professional Studies programs?
Tuition varies depending on your residency and the courses you take. Our advisors will work with you to use the credits and experience you already have to help you save money on your OSU degree.
- Can I transfer credits from another institution?
OSU accepts transfer credits from accredited institutions, and our team has extensive experience helping students maximize their previous college credits. We’ll work with you to ensure that as many of your credits as possible apply toward your degree, which can help you finish faster and save on tuition. If you’ve completed relevant coursework through other institutions, we’ll help guide you through the credit transfer process to make sure you get the most value from your previous education.
- Are financial aid options available for online and returning adult students?
Yes, financial aid is available for eligible students. You can apply for federal student aid, scholarships and other funding opportunities. Your admissions counselor can share aid and scholarship options tailored to your specific situation. Visit OSU-Tulsa Scholarships and Financial Aid for more information.
