Award Categories

 

  • New Student Organization of the Year Award

    The New Student Organization of the Year Award is presented to an organization that has been registered no more than three semesters at OSU-Tulsa. This organization must show potential in the areas of community engagement, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.

  • Student Organization of the Year Award

    The Distinguished Student Organization of the Year Award is presented to an organization that has been registered for more than three semesters at OSU-Tulsa. This organization must show excellence in the areas of community engagement, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.

  • Emerging Leader Award

    Nominees for this award must be student leaders with an admit term between Fall 2023-Spring 2024, cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher, and be in appropriate conduct standing with the University. Nominations should demonstrate how the individual met/exceeded the following criteria in 500 words or less:

    • Displayed great potential during their tenure at the University thus far, as evidenced in ways including but not limited to: leadership, involvement, work ethic, desire and ability to contribute positively to the campus

    • Significant impact on campus community that stands out above others

  • Outstanding Community Engagement Award

    The Outstanding Community Engagement Award is presented to an organization that demonstrates through action the importance of serving the campus, community, country, and the world. Organizations will be considered when they document at least ten hours/semester of hands-on service activities, philanthropic and fundraising events, political and/or advocacy efforts, or other civic engagement-related pursuits.

  • Program/Event of the Year Award

    Recognizes an outstanding effort by an organization to plan and implement a project that benefited the campus and/or community during this past year. Please Note: The Project of the Year Award can be won in consecutive years by the same organization, but only for a significantly different project.

Nomination Details

Selection Criteria

  • Describe the project being nominated. How was it decided upon, organized, promoted, and implemented?

  • What role did the members of your organization play in making this project happen?

  • What was the impact of this project on the campus and/or in the community? What were the benefits?

  • How did organizing this project benefit your organization?

  • Is there anything else regarding this project that you would like the selection committee to consider? 

Award Requirements

  • Registered student organization through the Campus Life Office at OSU-Tulsa

  • Facilitated at least three meetings/events during the academic year

  • At least five students participated in meetings/events during the academic year

  • Write and submit a report to the Campus Life office with supporting evidence of specified criteria as outlined in award (download report template PDF)
